We took the kids to a Pow-wow on the weekend. We try to expose them to as many different ideas and cultures as possible, and I think this was really interesting for them. We watched the First Nations dancers and drummers, and sat in a teepee. They told stories and tried to educate us on the beliefs and values. I really liked the outfits that they wore and enjoyed the dance. My daughter wanted to get up for the dance, but got a little shy when it was time to go up. The ceremonial fire was just starting when we had to leave for lunch.
