Tottle for tots
My daughter has registered for Tottle for tots and looks forward to the exciting day. My son enjoys the shows, and we get to see Robert Munsch.
Money collected in pledges supports the kids and families who stay at Toronto's Ronald McDonald House, a "home away from home" for out-of-town families whose children are receiving treatment for serious illnesses in Toronto. It is a great cause.

Plums
We are getting a real bumper crop of plums this year, which is interesting because this is the first year in which I have done absolutely nothing to feed, fertilize, protect or increase productivity. The plum tree and our tomatoes are doing well, we are getting a few hot peppers, but the garden is in need of some serious work.

Soccer season
My daughter (shown here with her coach) is now finished her soccer for the summer and she did really good. I think she learned a lot, and I'm sure she will be back next year, perhaps with dad as a coach.
After a great deal of discussion, she has decided to take another session of ballet. My son is back to Kindergym and both are enrolled in swimming.
I wonder what mom and dad should do as extra-ciricular activities this fall?

Rear Ended
Bruce Pennisula National Park
We just returned from 4 days of camping at Cyprus Lake at the Bruce Pennisula National Park. The weather was great and we only had a little bit of rain when we were in Tobermory. We visited some lighthouses, and the kids enjoyed going up inside of one.
We visited the interpretive centre and the kids got to put a foot on each end of the Bruce Trail. The tower was pretty neat that you got to climb.
We played on the beaches. We hiked up to the grotto, and saw lots of really neat sites, including the stone arch and the grotto itself. The kids even got to go into a real cave.
On the way home, we stopped to visit Wiarton Willy. He was sleeping. We also passed the house where my mom was born, over 75 years ago.
It was a great trip, but always goes too fast.
Here is a link to some more photos.

Wing fest
We went to my brothers on the weekend for the 15th annual wing fest celebration. The lake was really cold, but the kids managed to get in the water. They especially enjoyed playing with their cousin Gabriel, who is visiting from Brazil for a a few months. The wings were great and the fireworks were fantastic.
